Safeguarding Policy
The aim of this policy is to protect the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults from sexual, physical and emotional harm.
The purpose of the policy is to ensure that concerns are acted on.
This policy applies in whatever capacity I am involved with any organization working with children, young people and vulnerable adults.
All professionals involved in the welfare of children and young people have a clear responsibility to act, and I take this responsibility seriously, recognizing that even in the best run organizations abuse can happen.
Safeguarding concerns will be raised with the organization’s Designated Person as soon as is possible, and in any event within 24 hours.
Any personal information that might be disclosed during training, group-work, supervision, consultation or other process is treated with respect and will not be disclosed, except if that information raises safeguarding concerns.
Safeguarding concerns include:
- Welfare and safety of children, young people or vulnerable adults
- Bullying or harassment
- Professional conduct of staff
- Concerns about risk management
- Promotion of violent extremism
This policy is subject to regular review
